My baby is 10

10 years old. Double digits. 8 years until he is an "adult".  Yikes.  Yes, it is true what they say.  That time is going by in a blink of an eye.  Each age brings new challenges in the parenting department but more than anything, I am finding that each age brings such JOY!  What a privilege it is to watch my son grow into a man of God.
Luke, I never knew that the love I have for you existed until you came crying into this world on July 20, 2003.  Your sweet scrunchy face and bald little head took my breath away.  My heart nearly beat out of my chest when they placed you in my arms for the first time and I whispered just how much I loved you, kissed you and told how much your Daddy and I had prayed for you.  A love I had never known.  And a perfect picture of how God loves us.

You are my first born and only son.  Watching you grow is so amazing.  My prayer for you as you enter your double digits is that you continue to hold onto your love for Jesus.  That you seek Him in all your decisions.  That you listen as He guides you along the way.  Know that Daddy and I will always be here as a soft place to fall and that we are in constant prayer about how to help and guide you as you learn, make decisions, and ultimately head out into this big world.
  I love you so much.

This Girl

She keeps us on our toes and honest.  She is a roller coaster of 3 year old emotion.  She is silly, sassy, and loves with her whole heart.  And she is my baby.  Getting too close to 4 years for my liking.  But watching her grow is one of the joys of my life.

Backyard Fun

Chris is in the middle of "work-up" for his MEU deployment.  What that means is that he goes out on ship to train for 2 to 3 weeks and then will be home for 5 to 7 days before he goes out again.
Since our time with him is so precious before he goes, we wanted to have a little fun just the 5 of us.   We spent one Saturday loading up our cart at Toys R Us with some fun backyard toys and played all afternoon and evening. We had some great quality family time all together.
My idea of a perfect weekend.

Happy 4th of July

We spent the 4th with the Smiths this year.  Such a wonderful time.  The weather was PERFECT (of course) and the company was even better.

The Wilkes Came to Town!

We had such a wonderful time during our visit with Uncle Scott, Aunt Kim, Anna, and Renzy!!  Our days were spent at the beach, the zoo, and of course a trip to eat at Ruby's on the pier.  So thankful for such an awesome family and the time we were able to spend with them.

So the Whole World Will Know...

Luke and Hayley were baptized on Sunday, June 30, 2013 in front of our church (Coastline Baptist Church) to declare their love for Jesus and belief and need for Him as their Savior.  My heart could have leaped out of my chest that day.  I am so very excited for both of them and their decision to follow Jesus.
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
Romans 10: 9-10
