Fall Has Arrived!!

Monday was our 2nd annual trip to Bates Nut Farm.  Although it was a warm 85 degrees then, today the high is a breezy 72 and the low is 52.  Ahhhhh.  I love that our weather in CA is like Fall 80% of the year.
We went with many of our home school friends this year and had a blast.  I was wondering if the pumpkin patch would be a little too "babyish" for Luke and Hayely this year, but they both still loved it and helped so much with many of the little kids.  Besides, does a hayride really ever get old?  Not to me!

One of my favorite parts of this trip is the presentation they do about the pumpkin farm and how the pumpkins grow.  Luke got to be the farmer again this year and they picked the PERFECT girl to be the sunshine!

She truly is our little sunshine!

Hannah played the roll of the female flower.  The look on her face is priceless.

Hayride time!!!  Auntie Kelly and our "cousins" got to come with us.  Woohoo!!

Ms. Donna and our new friends ready to go!

Sweetest neighbor and friend EVER!  Laurel is such a blessing to me.  So thankful she and her little growing family moved in 7 months ago.

Breathtaking

We had dinner with some friends last weekend up in San Clemente.  The home we went to visit was ON the beach and the views were so amazing.
Pictures truly do not do the view justice, but I had to try and capture some of the beautiful evening.

I wish these pics had turned out better.  Check out Hannah's pose.  Seriously.  She is so stinkin funny.

The sky was a brilliant orange-red on the horizon.  I just stood and stared until the sun disappeared.

A Break in the Everyday

Last week was a tad rough.  After 6 weeks of the deployment, the reality of 7 more months of missing Daddy sunk in and we were all in a bit of a funk.  Not to mention the fact that Congress shut down the government which meant Luke's soccer season was cancelled and so were Hayley's horseback riding lessons because they play/ride through programs offered by MCCS (government run).  Thanks, Congress.

I decided to surprise the kids and spend last Thursday at LEGOLAND.  We renewed our season passes (thanks Aunt Holly) and spent the day playing with our friends.

We had a great time!  Just what the doctor ordered to help lift our spirits. And I'm happy to report that Youth Sports and the Stables are up and running again so it's back to soccer and horses this week.  Woohoo!
