City That Never Sleeps

NYC!!!
One of my all time favorite places to visit.  What's not to love??  The theater, the restaurants, and the shopping.  Oh, the shopping!!  And for me, the only way to go to NYC is with my sister.  Since she lived in NYC for 18 months and goes there almost 2 weeks out of every month now, she KNOWS the city.  Not just the tourist spots.  But the absolute BEST spots.
Our weekend to New York was so much fun. It started with us jumping on an early flight the night before we were supposed to leave because it was supposed to snow all day the next day.  We pulled up to the Waldorf Astoria around 1:00 a.m. and woke up in the city that never sleeps.

When we woke up the next morning, it was snowing and cold.  So what to do but shop, eat, and go to see 2 shows!! We headed to TKTS in Time Square but the line was so long that we just went directly to the box office to buy tickets.
First up was Beautiful, the Carol King Musical.  My favorite of the weekend (Although all the shows we saw were amazing).

We shopped, shopped and shopped some more eventually stopping in Bryant Park to have dinner at Celsius and visit the Christmas Market before going to see our 2nd show, Pippin.

The next morning Holly had made us appointments at Dry Bar, a salon that only washes, dries, and styles your hair.  It was such a nice treat to get our hair done.  After dry bar, we walked up 5th Avenue and looked at all the windows all  decorated for Christmas.  My favorite windows were at Tiffany's, of course.

We had brunch at Barney's and then headed to Tory Burch.  Note to Chris: these are not all my bags!  Hehehe.  Holly styled me for this shot, and two of the three bags belong to her.

Matilda was our 3rd show of the weekend and oh my word, it was amazing.  Kind of hated that I didn't have the kids with me to see it.  But I did buy the soundtrack and shirts from the show for them.

Time Square at night!

Dinner at Ruby Foo's!  Yummy!

Our last show for the weekend was to see the Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.

Fantastic weekend I will never forget with the best sister EVER!

Finally in the Right Year!

2014!!!
The year that Chris will come home.  Even though we still have a ways to go, its nice to be in the RIGHT year.

To say that our Christmas vacation was amazing is an understatement.  Our trip to GA couldn't have come at a more perfect time.  Filled with family and friends to love on and to be loved by.  Just what the 4 of us needed to mark the half way point in this deployment.

Bright and early on December 10, we flew out of SD at 7:55 a.m.  Everyone did GREAT on our 4 hour flight to Atlanta.  Once we landed, we hit the ground running.

First stop, the very first EVER Chick-Fil-A.  Mimi and Papa took us to the Dwarf House and we filled up on CFA goodness and sweet tea.
The kiddos and Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-Fil-A.

After we settled in and adjusted to the time change, we went to see Santa and ride the famous Pink Pig at the Macy's at Lenox Mall.  We met up with Aunt Ansley and Delany for our day of fun.  It had been 18 months since we had seen Delany and boy, how much she had grown.  Everyone was fast friends and I finally got to smooch on her precious cheeks!!

The original Pink Pig that Mimi and Papa rode when they were children.  I also rode in the original Pink Pig.  You are not truly a GA citizen until you take a your ride.

Our Santa visit went so well this year.  Luke and Hayley were super helpers with the little ones and no one shed a tear!

Had a quick visit with my BFF from childhood, Nan, and her precious girls.  Here are Hayley and Issa.
The mini version of me and Mandy!

So much more to come to document our month long visit.  Such wonderful memories were made that we will all cherish forever!!!!
