SoCal Summer with Mimi and Papa

With Chris's deployment on the horizon, one thing that has helped keep our spirits up is all the visitors we have had through out the summer.  Mimi and Papa came to see us at the end of June and of course, we had a wonderful time.  We went to Sea World, a Padres game, and celebrated all the summer birthdays in this house.
We didn't know if we would ever get to Sea World.  My GPS had us riding in circles around Fiesta Island.  Once we arrived we started the day with a few rides in their Sesame Street themed kids section.

Next we went to the One Ocean show with none other Shamu!!
My favorite!

Spent the day riding the awesome thrill rides at Sea World with this guy.  Their roller coaster, Manta, is one of the best I've ridden and we also loved Journey to Atlantis.

Next up was our trip down to San Diego to watch the Padres play the Dodgers.  Beautiful afternoon and yes, we needed jackets at a 4:00 game at the end of June.  Have I said how much I love CA weather?!?!

How do you keep a 3 year old occupied at an MLB game??  Give her a bag of popcorn that is taller than she is.  Worked like a charm.

Hayley and Mimi had fun making bracelets with one of the birthday presents that they brought her.  A loopdee lou.

First movie experience for HB was to see Monsters U.  What a great time!!!

OF course the girls over the age of 3 went to get pedicures and enjoyed every minute of it.

Counting the days to our visit with Mimi and Papa this Fall.

Deployment on the Horizon

So maybe why I have been away from the blog lately is because life right now is hard.  It's hard when I don't see Chris for more than 15 hours a week and his head is swimming with tasks that involve the deployment on the MEU.  He has been working 15+ hour days and most weekends.  He works so hard at his job for us, for his Marines, for his country.  We miss him so very much but my heart could burst from how proud I am of him.
Chris was able to take Luke and Hayley down to his ship to help him load his gear and to see the room where he will be living for the next 10 + months.  They were thrilled.  He is on ship training and will be back for a bit before he heads out again and finally heads to sea for the LONG deployment.  I love him so very much.  God has blessed us in ways that only God can.  He will hold us and keep us strong while we are apart just as He always has.  God is so faithful.  Join me in praying for the 13th MEU and the Marines and Sailors that will be deployed with Chris.

Coat of Many Colors!!!!!

Kelly and I took the kids and Grandma Sharon (Kelly's mom), to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  I think the boys were really excited!!!  Can you tell from their faces?    The show was amazing and I loved the amphitheatre where we saw the show.  We will definitely be going back.
