Monday night was the AWANA awards night to celebrate all the achievements of the kids this year. My Cubbies were so excited and I loved being able to help them up on stage as they each received their award. What a blessing it was to serve as a Cubbie leader this year. Exhausting but rewarding!
Both Luke and Hayley did an awesome job this first year as Sparks. Sparks run from Kindergarten to 2nd grade. There are 3 Sparks books with Bible Stories, Bible verses, and activities for the kids to work on throughout the year. You have 3 years to complete all 3 book in Sparks if you start in Kindergarten. Each book contains about 50 Bible verses to memorize and recite to your leader as you memorize them at your own pace. This year being the first for both Luke and Hayley, they had to play a little catch up. Not to worry, Luke completed all 3 books and review books to be able to receive his Sparky Award before moving up to T&T (Truth and Training) Boys next year. Hayley completed 2 books and reviews and will be able to finish book 3 next year to earn her Sparky Award.
So proud of both of them and love that they have worked hard and accomplished so much in just a year. But most of all, I love that they are hiding God's Word in their hearts so that they can call on the Truth from the Bible anytime they may need it in life. What an amazing program AWANA is bringing children into a deeper in relationship with Jesus. So thankful for our church and this program.
