Like No Time Had Passed...

What an incredible 3 days I had with 3 of my very favorite people in the world!  It was once again time for our annual GIRLS' WEEKEND, and boy we did it right this go around.  In fact, we are trying to pin down the dates for next years visit to this exact spot.

I about a year and a half ago, I spotted a little article in Southern Living about this quaint little spa in the mountains of NC.  They had a package for 3 nights called Girls Night In.  Perfect place for us to spend time catching up, relaxing and just having fun.

I have been so blessed to call these girls friends for over 18 years (actually Lindsay and I have known each other since 1982).  We spent our four years of college together and promised that we would always make time to get together.  I love that when we get together it really seems as no time has passed.  We just pick right back up where we left off . To say that I love these girls is an understatement.

We spent our weekend laughing, eating, hiking, shopping, taking yoga, eating, going for spa treatments, laughing some more, and we squeezed in a little sleeping.

Here is the spa that was about 40 steps from our precious cottage.

Kindergarten Pics

Didn't I just wipe the tears from my cheeks after going to Luke's K graduation?
Sheesh....
Hayley had cap and gown pictures at school today.
I don't think my heart can take much more of this growing up thing.

Such a sweet, beautiful girl.

Another fun soccer season has  begun!  Go Luke Go!

Mimi and Papa Time

We had the best visit with Mimi and Papa this week.  They were able to come up and spend 4 days with us.  I think we all may nap for a few days to recover from all the fun stuff we got to do together.

One of the best things we were able to do was go to Busch Gardens.  The weather was cool and stormy all morning, but the weather channel assured us that things would clear up by 2:00.  We checked Luke and Hayley out of school early.  They had no idea what we were doing and why they were leaving school early.  I thought they might jump out of the car they were so excited when we told them where we were going.  It was raining just a bit when we got there, but a soon as the clock hit 2, the rain stopped and the sun came out.  NO ONE was at the park.  There were maybe 75 to 100 cars in the parking lot.  We would get on a ride and just stay on 2 sometimes 3 times in a row.  We really did have the park to ourselves.  It was wonderful.

This has got to be the World's largest Rice Krispy treat!  It was HUGE!

Thanks for coming to see us Mimi and Papa.  We love you!

If It Fits... You Need It!

The title of this post makes me giggle.  One of my dear friends from college and I used this saying when we were packing for a Spring Break trip one year.  We were on our way to go skiing in Colorado and thought we needed to pack everything we owned.

15 years later......
Chris and Luke headed out to their very first camp out.  One of Luke's best buddies was celebrating his 8th birthday with a father/son camp out.  Apparently, this how much gear you need for about 18 hours in the woods (not including the Cozy Cars)....

I should have sent my camera with them, but in reality there would probably be few pictures even if I had sent it.  The boys were so excited Chris said that they ran around in the woods for hours.  It's a good thing they kept busy due to the temps dropping down to 36 degrees that night!
Everyone had an absolute blast.
Happy birthday to our friend, Alexander, and thanks for an awesome party that will NEVER be forgotten.

Fiesta!

Each year H has attended GBPS, they have had a Fiesta to celebrate the Spring.  This year was the first that I was able to attend.
Year 1: horrible morning sickness had me laid up.
Year 2: a fussy 4 month old had me tied up at home.
And so we come to year 3, with tortillas in hand, it was Fiesta time!
.
I love the mustaches that the boys wore!  So funny.

Listening intently to the directions about the pinata.  She looks like such a big girl in this picture.

Getting a good swing in.......

Mad dash to grab some of the loot!!!

I love it when I am able to spend some one on one time with my Hayley.  It's in those moments when I am able to really get a glimpse into who she is becoming.  I so enjoy watching her with her peers.  She can  be such a sweet friend, never wanting to exclude anyone, and showing such empathy for anyone who gets his/her feelings hurt.  She is such a love.
So thankful for this day we had together.  I will always cherish it!
